The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
For anyone interested in Japanese culture, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens will be a treat. This museum and gardens has been operating since 1977.

Exhibits rotate inside the museum while the permanent collection includes artifacts, fine art and folk art illustrating Japanese culture. Between bonsai trees, the memorial waterfall, the bamboo grove and the contemplation pavilion, you'll feel tranquility from every corner.
Annual celebrations at the museum honor Japanese culture. Every August, the Bon Festival recognizes the three-day Japanese holiday Obon, where citizens honor their ancestors and thank them for their gifts of life. At Morikami, entertainment includes Japanese folk dances, drum performances, a street fair, games and more. You'll also see firework show and a peaceful symbolic gesture of lighting lanterns for the dead and having them float across the lake as the sun sets.
The Morikami also offers a variety of classes for the community to attend. Among these are calligraphy, flower arrangement, painting landscapes and tea ceremony workshops.
